090425 Auburn, Al.–Kyle Maynard, a congenital amputee and a Collins Hill grad, fends off a shot by Bryan Fry in Maynard’s first Amateur Mixed Martial Arts fight at the Auburn Covered Arena Saturday night in Auburn, Al., April 25, 2009. Maynard lost by unanimous decision to Bryan Fry in a 3 round right. Maynard was unable to ever get a hold of Fry. Maynard, 23, fulfilled his lifelong dream to compete in his first Amateur Mixed Martial Arts match. He tried to fight in Duluth two years ago but his license to fight was denied by the Georgia Athletic & Entertainment Commission.
